Trade-In Protection (TIP) provides protection of up to $5,000(1) against potential negative equity when the customer returns to trade-in and repurchase a new vehicle. Simply put, it is Trade-GAP protection and much more.

Trade-In Protection Loyalty Marketing Advantage: 

A critical competent to our Value Proposition is built around providing a higher level of engagement throughout the customer ownership experience. In order to accomplish this, we have imbedded a Loyalty Marketing Campaign “TIP Advantage” that provides dealers with targeted customer communication messages every six months. These campaigns are designed to engage dealer’s customers by providing relevant and personalized communications. 

While each communication message will mention or highlight Trade-In Protection it will allow dealers to tailor offers and messages relevant to each customer based on their position in their ownership life-cycle. Messaging can be in the form of email, text, and/or direct mail and include special sales, service specials or a list of other available programs. Samples of the marketing materials are on the next page of what will be offered and provided. It is important to note that our TIP Advantage plan is included in our pricing there is no additional charge for this service.

GAP provides protection in the event of a constructive total loss of collateral due to theft or accidental loss. GAP may waive the difference between the primary insurance settlement and the outstanding balance on the customer's vehicle on the date of loss*.

GAP helps close the financial gap when primary insurance carrier payouts can leave the dealer's customers with an additional loan balance. FFDS also offers a GAP Plus program that provides a $1,000 voucher towards the purchase of another replacement vehicle provided there is a covered Payable Loss. The Customer must return to the original selling dealer within 90 days after the Primary Carriers settlement to receive this additional benefit or this additional benefit expires.

Road Hazard Tire and Wheel Protection provide customers with repair or replacement of the vehicle's tires and wheels that become unserviceable due to road hazard. The coverage options provided with this protection includes, tire repair, tire replacement, wheels (RIMS) repair, mounting, and balancing, which includes local and state taxes.

Rental Reimbursement coverage is also available on this program. This program allows for the contract to be transferred within 30 days of the date of the vehicle's sale, subject to a transfer fee of $40.00 (where allowed by law).

Features:

  • Tire Replacement
  • Reimbursed for the costs incurred for replacing tire, including costs of a new tire, mounting, balancing, new valve stem, and sales tax. There is no per occurrence limit.
  • Wheel Replacement
  • Reimbursement for the costs incurred for replacing the wheel, including cost of a replacement wheel, mounting, balancing, new valve step, and sales tax. There is no per occurrence limit.


In today's competitive market dealerships are constantly looking for opportunities to drive profit and additional sales. This program provides a unique opportunity for dealerships allowing them to promote through various direct marketing channels.

This program will allow your dealership's customers to return the vehicle to the original selling participating dealership after 30 days of ownership from the delivery date up to the 60th day of ownership. In exchange for the vehicle, the customer will receive the vehicle purchase price after any rebates, discounts, usage fee of $.50 per mile, plus applicable sales tax that were actually paid. Only the price of the vehicle itself (plus sales tax) is included.

The buyback offer does not include a return of monies paid for any other taxes, licensing, titling, or registration fees, insurance accessories, dealer fees, extended warranties, finance charges, negative equity, or any other expenses incurred by the customer at the time of taking delivery of the new vehicle.

Features:

  • The eligible vehicle that is returned cannot have more than 4,000 miles from the delivery date of the vehicle purchase.
  • Dealership must accept all qualifying vehicles returned to the dealership during the program period.
  • Dealer Use and Special Event Vehicles are not eligible for the program.
  • After the dealership re-titles the vehicle and submits proof to the administrator, the administrator will release the $1,000 credit allowance for the Disclosure benefit.


This appearance protection product was originally developed for the aviation industry, which is why this product translates to superior performance for your dealer's vehicles. One of the most significant traits for this Exterior and Interior Environmental Protection program is that the protective properties last for the duration of the limited warranty associated with it.

This is accomplished because the exterior product is not a wax. Its chemistry allows it to be applied to all surfaces, including plastic and glass. It is also heat tested to 450 degrees. This heat threshold keeps it performing where most other wax/silicone based products fail at surface temperatures that can occur on a sunny day.

  • Should the original factor finish be damaged by weather-induced fading, oxidation, or loss of gloss, hard water etching, bird droppings, tree sap, road salt, etc., this product provides reimbursement for the cost to repair such condition.

  • Interior leather, vinyl, fabric, and carpet
  • Should the interior treated with automobile manufacturers appearance care products be damaged by stains, UV exposure, or temperature extremes this provide provides reimbursement for the cost to repair such condition.


As technology continues to advance to keep the vehicle's keys theft proof, it can be costly to replace a lost or stolen keys. The membership provides your dealership's customers reimbursement for a replacement key or remote in the event that the customer's automobile keys or remotes are lost, stolen, or destroyed. 

This coverage directs the dealership's customers back to the issuing dealership for service, which provides the dealership the opportunity to increase their consumer satisfaction ratings, as well as generate revenue opportunities. Road America will pay reasonable labor cost associated with the programming of keys and key fobs.

  • If customer misplaces their key, the keys or transponder are damaged, and will not work, or locks key inside vehicle, this coverage provides reimbursement up to the $85 benefit limit per occurrence for entry into the customer's vehicle. 

  • Car Rental Savings Program
  • Customer is entitled to discount cards for vehicle rentals, which are honored at thousands of locations throughout the U.S. and abroad, such as Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Rent-A-Car, etc.
